In the wake of Friday's staff meeting of the Virginia Tech coaches, TechSideline.com sources have identified Virginia Tech's list of recruits heading into the last few weeks of recruiting. There are just over three weeks left in the recruiting period, which ends with national signing day on Feb. 6th.

The key areas for Tech recruiting as they come down the home stretch are quarterback, defensive line, wide receiver and linebacker. This emphasis is reflected in the fact that 12 of the remaining 17 players on Tech's board (as identified by TSL) play one of those four positions. Three of the remaining five players are listed as "ATH," or athlete, meaning they could play anything from defensive back to wide receiver to linebacker.

Here is the list of remaining recruits as TSL knows them. Please note:

There are several other possible recruits for the Hokies, and one is visiting this weekend. The Hokies are going to take a look at wide receiver Robert Parker, who will visit Tech this coming weekend (Jan. 18th visit weekend). Parker (6-1, 180) is from Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Hokies have not offered him a scholarship yet, but may do so if they like what they see, and depending upon how things pan out with other receivers on their list.

Brenden Hill, a wide receiver at Warwick High in Newport News, alma mater of Michael (and soon Marcus) Vick, has raised the possibility of following Marcus to Tech if Vick commits to the Hokies. Hill's other favorites are Virginia and West Virginia (his leader at last report).

Also worth mentioning is QB/ATH Derell Jenkins, who has told Rivals.com recruiting specialists that he will receive a visit Wednesday from Virginia Tech coaches. Jenkins was contacted by Tech's new QB coach, Kevin Rogers, and that's where the sudden interest is coming from.

The Hokies also have in-home visits scheduled this week with all their QB recruits: Marcus Vick, James Banks, and Lorne Sam. Virginia Tech is focusing their efforts on Vick, not only because they feel he's a great talent, but because he is the only in-state player of the three remaining QB prospects. One or more of the QB's on the list may join Patrick Dosh, who committed to the Hokies earlier today (see the TSL Recruiting database profile for Patrick Dosh for more info).
