sign JC transfer" - Roanoke Times
Notable:
Signed with Colorado State out of high school as a quarterback. Attended El Capitan High
School in San Diego. Has 2 years of Div I eligibility left.
McCadam made Second Team Juco All-American at defensive back per J.C.
Grid-Wire. In high school ,
McCadam passed for 1,264 yards and threw 16 touchdowns in eight games. His senior season
was cut short with a shoulder injury. McCadam was also
recruited out of high school as a safety. As a JUCO player, he made PrepStar's
Top 300 JUCO players in 1999, HokieCentral.com has been told by one source
McCadam " is a heavy hitter, and he has a mean
streak, so he could likely contribute immediately at free
safety or cornerback." Also considered Texas Tech and BYU.
Additional commentary by: Kevin Lustgarten of JC Football:
One of the most under-recruited JC players in the nation this year has
been Grossmont College's, Kevin McCadam. The 6-1, 205-pounder just
completed his first year as a Free Safety and he opened a lot of eyes.
"He's one of the best football players who hasn't been recruited highly,"
said McCadam's coach. "He can play cornerback, too. He's that fast." Aside
from making first team All-Foothill Conference as a safety, he was also a
dangerous kick returner. Perhaps the best thing about him is that he's
also a terrific student.
