Hokies the #4 Seed in ACC Tournament

Managing Editor

Virginia Tech finished the regular season 23-7 overall and 10-6 in the ACC, and they've earned a first round bye in the 2010 ACC tournament. The Hokies are the #4 seed, and they'll take on either #5 Wake Forest or #12 Miami on Friday in Greensboro.

Friday's quarterfinal game against either the Demon Deacons or Hurricanes will tip-off at the conclusion of the noon game featuring #1 Duke against either #8 Boston College or #9 Virginia. Tech's game should begin sometime between 2pm and 2:30pm.

The Hokies went 2-1 this season against Wake Forest and Miami. Tech split two meetings with the Canes, winning 81-66 in Blacksburg and losing 82-75 in Coral Gables. The Hokies won their only meeting with Wake, knocking off the Demon Deacons 87-83 in Cassell Coliseum on February 16.

If the Hokies make it past their quarterfinal game, they will face #1 Duke, #8 Boston College or #9 Virginia on Saturday at 1:30pm.

Friday's quarterfinal game will be televised by Raycom/ESPN2. If the Hokies make it to the semifinals, that matchup will be broadcast by Raycom/ESPN.
