Virginia Tech's 2012 football game with the Cincinnati Bearcats will be played in FedEx Field. It will mark the third time the Hokies have played in FedEx. They played #1 USC there back in 2004, and will also play Boise State in 2010.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in Cincinnati, but the Bearcats have agreed to the neutral site game. As a result, they will officially be the home team, even though the game will take place in Virginia Tech's geographic footprint.

The game between Cincinnati and Virginia Tech was originally scheduled to open the 2009 season. However, that game was pushed back to 2012 so the Hokies could play Alabama in Atlanta to begin this season. The game has now been changed for a third time with the move to FedEx Field.

Cincinnati is undefeated and ranked #5 in the country. They have won 16 of their past 17 games, with their one loss coming to Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl this past January. No time or date has been set for the 2012 meeting between the Hokies and Bearcats.

The 17th-ranked Virginia Tech women's soccer team won two games over the weekend and has advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Women's Soccer National Championships. The Hokies are a #3 seed in the tournament, and they defeated Murray State and host Dayton to advance to the Sweet 16.

Tech earned a 2-0 victory over Murray State in the opening round on Friday, and then knocked off #23 Dayton on Sunday. Dayton had posted a record of 16-0-6 heading into Sunday's matchup, so the Hokies handed the Flyers their first loss of the season. Dayton was a host team in the opening round, so the road victory for Tech was particularly impressive.

With the two wins over the weekend, the Hokies are now 16-7 on the year. They are in the middle of the greatest season in the history of the program.

Tech will try to continue their deep postseason run next weekend when they take on #2 seed Portland (20-1), at Portland. The matchup with Portland will be held at 10pm on Friday night, and it will be televised by Comcast SportsNet Northwest.

The networks have set the kickoff times and TV coverage for Virginia Tech's remaining two regular season games. This Saturday's game with NC State in Blacksburg will kickoff at 3:30pm on ESPNU, while the UVA game on Saturday, November 28 will kickoff at 3:30pm on ESPN.

NC State enters this weekend's game with a 4-6 record. They have only defeated two 1-A opponents this season, so they are no longer in contention for a bowl bid. However, they have a very good offense led by quarterback Russell Wilson, and plenty of talent at the skilled positions. Their defense has been held back by a number of injuries, but defensive end Willie Young is one of the best players in the country at his position.

Virginia, at 3-7, is also staying home for the Holidays. This is likely head coach Al Groh's last season in Charlottesville, and he would like nothing more than to end his tenure at UVA with a home win over the in-state rival Hokies.
