Kind of like "salaries" vs total benefits package and official school
expenses rather than total school and booster expenses.
It also does not have an equal basis to make an accounting for. For
instance, looking at the breakouts there is Endowments and Investments
and only one school have anything there, that's us with $102,000.
Everyone else is 0, even UVA who the report says spends right at
$5,000,000 annually according to the report. Another head scratcher
is "Media Rights" Where there are only 2 and ours is $86,000. Now if
you believe that UNC WBBall has no endowment money or investments
available to them and gets nothing from media rights then go ahead.
These number indicate to me this is far from an accurate picture of
what each school and staff has available and is more a public
accounting of just what a public institution's part of the support of
the team is.
Other head scratchers, GT spends $557,731 on student aid. UNC spends
$370,864 and Duke and the private schools aren't listed BTW. I am
sure that is due to the stated cost of tuition at each school.
