something that compares situations to people? Did I see that as a
comparison of Beth as a coach to George as a General or Roy as a
coach? I didn't see it that way at all.

Rather that even the best go through sometimes even prolonged bad
stretches.

The point I saw being made was that there was a lot more possibility
that Beth is in a prolonged bad stretch, kind of like Frank for
several early years. than there is aa slam dunk she won't be able to
get it done.

The reference was to George also having a resume at one point in time
that some would say made him a slam dunk failure as a general.
