Subject: The last 2 games thoughts

The last 2 games were critical for our season to be considered a good
improvement but they got away! Now I usually don’t have much to say
about the Coaches but I must give them some good words for not using
any excuses because I think I may have if I was the Coach. But really
they are not excuses but facts!
Some of this has been mentioned but besides the injuries the team got
hit with a bad case of the stomach flu or something and I checked as
best I could and it seems to have hit most of the team and it was not
pretty! I heard Hadley passed out and busted her chin and had to have
multiple stitches so yes it did seem to be a pretty bad bug that hit
them. The worse part is that it hit just when we should have won a
couple of games.
I know I shouldn’t waste my time on here but it just still surprises me
the comments that show up here. I challenge you to go back and read
all the hundreds of comments when we win…oh wait there usually are
very few but when we lose look out!!
I know everyone wants us to win and I hate excuses but you must look
at everything to make an informed comment and most of the comments
are uniformed IMO.
Couldn’t you see how the team was starting to come together?? The
pieces were falling into place; Nikki was playing like the point guard I
had expected all along. Then she had her breakout performance at
Miami and her 3 scoring was a chance to take the heat off of Biggs but
then she goes down with the knee. Also Gordon was playing so much
better and it looked like we were poised for a nice run but the injuries to
Davis and Hadley and then the bug that hit the team slammed us!
I still believe this team is pretty good and I expect a good finish. This
team with a little luck would have 5 conf wins already but so far lady
luck has not been around but hopefully she will show up for the last part
of the season!! Now the first Wake loss was not bad luck and I put that
square on the shoulders of the Coaches and the players we should
have won that game! But with a little time this week to heal and get
well we can still have our run!
I still am hoping for 4 conf wins and 17 total wins.
