I don't think the loss of GP should necessarily be seen as an indicator
of an inability to attract and keep competitive assts. If the rumors and
such are true, that may have had more to do with GP not knowing the
proper role of an asst. coach. Some people will say BD felt threatened
by his aggressive personality. Well, she IS the head coach and he IS
supposed to take his cues from her. There is a reason asst. coaches
show that they have different philosophies when they finally get their
own jobs; they had to subsume some of their ego and philosophies
while they operate under the head coach. That is a given. I have been a
head coach and an assistant coach. It is VERY difficult for a strong
asst. coach to not try and control things; BUT is not the asst. coaches
job to try and be the head coach or undermine the head coach.
I am showing patience because i have the perspective that what
happened this year has not been going on for years and years. Both
previous coaches have shown success. I think that people are over-
reacting to this year. Now, if they continue to have such years and can't
get the players needed - then fine. Act.
