Subject: Being associated with several major AAU programs and coaches

the "alienating AAU coaches" is somewhat over-stated. VT needed to
build its image as a destination for top flight talent and that need
existed prior to BD, during BD's era, and with/without GP. Having
contacts in the Fairfax Stars, Boo Williams, as well as some major
private HS in the area, there isn't a major alienation factor. VT just has
to prove it is a viable destination for players who would otherwise
choose Maryland, Duke, UNC, UVA, BC, etc....
