Can't speak to the perks but, I can tell you the Grundy wrestling club
was organized, financed and managed better than a lot of D-1
programs. The people primarily responsible were smart, savvy
business folks whose best trait was that they were good people. The
entire community took ownership in the program and it might be only a
slight exaggeration to say that some kids have actually learned to walk
on the mats. Not from Grundy or related to anybody there but, through
business ties I was fortunate to have a nice seat to watch them build
the program and win all those state titles.
