Subject: I like where Coach Cagle has taken the program and where it's going, but

Message:

what head coaching experience did she have before coming to Tech?
It's not as simple and black and white as you make it out to be. To
begin with, the chronology is a bit off. She came on when Tech was in
the Big East and there were no signs of moving to the ACC. The
program was still young and hadn't been in the Big East long. (Let's not
forget the current field they play on hasn't been around forever.) She
has a solid background, but she wasn't a huge hire. It's also worth
noting a couple of the best players on the team have been walk-ons.
For various reasons there has been a lot of attrition. Cagle is still
finding herself as a coach and it's important that she learns and grows.
I have seen change in her since she arrived and think she is turning into
a good coach and wish her great success with Tech. I think she will
really pay off for the program as she learns all sides of coaching.

All I've heard so far is that we're getting a heavily-recruited goalie.***  --  squarerootofone   Wed Nov 18 2009 4:18:15 PM

Don't all non-rev sports have high turnover?  --  gern   Thu Nov 19 2009 2:44:21 PM
No question about it. Hopefully the men's program will rebound as well......  --  squarerootofone   Wed Nov 18 2009 2:05:56 PM
