Subject: One thing that I believe was being discussed but that apparently ...

... hasn't been acted on yet is the idea of having NCAA suspensions
and other program sanctions (loss of scholarships, TV appearances,
etc.) follow the offending coaches to their new programs. I'm thinking
of scumbags like John Calipari and Tim Floyd here. If these kids of
people know that if they cheat and are caught they simply can't pimp
themselves out and set up shop somewhere else with no consequences,
they might be considerably less inclined to cheat. Same with the
schools that might be tempted to hire them.

But what really needs to happen in the near term is for both UConn and
U$C to be put on multi-year probation by the NCAA and stripped of
scholarships. I won't be holding my breath waiting for either one to
happen though. Still, these new rules by the NCAA are an encouraging
step in the right direction.
