Would Zeke be as negative on a VT recruit as to say he lacked
quickness or an outside shot and would not see much time at either
guard? I doubt it. He might offer that his quickness and outside shot
would need to develop more for him to get a lot of minutes at guard.
Either way IMO if someone is going to offer a negative assessment of a
recruit it is helpful if they have actually seen the guy play either in
person or on film as opposed to forming the opinion solely off of
something they read. Please note I didn't say his opinion was wrong.
My question was to understand what he read and what made him
comfortable offerring that assessment. If you and I have watched lots of
hoops games over the years together and generally agree and assess
talent similar then I might be comfortable offerring my opinion based on
something you have written but, if I do not know you from Adam I am
going to want to see a kid in person or at least on film before I make the
same negative comment.
