Randal Chamblee just said on Live from the PGA Championship wrap-up that Rory is 5 ft. 9 and 160 pounds and his swing is unlike any other in professional golf. He hits it as far as the longest drivers on both tours and he is giving away 6-8" and up to 80 pounds to the other "giants" who belt it so far. The torque he generates comes from his freaky range of motion and exquisite timing through the finish. He is just now growing into his frame and will only get stronger and he continues to work with his strength and conditioning consultant. Dave Stockton is teaching him putting technique along with his philosophy of keeping a level temperament throughout a tournament. The sky is the limit for this guy.
Just think about where he would be if not for losing his cool on the back nine on Sunday at the Masters...a career grand slam by age 24 maybe?
The problem with him is that he is only 5'9" and 160lbs.
He will wear down. You can't torque your body like that for twenty years without getting a hernia or three.
The universe is a big place, perhaps the biggest.
