There is no indication that the ACC took any sort of revenue cut in order to get more exposure. ESPN held all the cards because they were the only ones we could negotiate with. The ACC got all the money there was to be gotten. Getting them to air more coverage of non revenues was a toss in. They control what they show and they will show the teams that, in their opinion, have a chance to draw the larger audience.
There has been a lot of chatter that the ACC was willing to take a revenue cut in negotiations for better exposure of ACC athletics. You have as much information as I do, so to state as a fact that it was just thrown in there is of no greater value than the chatter.
At the end of the day, the ACC is touting this as a major coup for the ACC and its exposure, but it's not--this is a major coup for UNC and its exposure. This shouldn't be surprising to anyone.
