It has little to nothing to do with that. Regardless of how he got to Clemson, and why he didn't get into Virginia Tech... Nobody is going to care that he didn't get into Virginia Tech academically. People are going to see the video where he wanted to play for Virginia Tech, they're going to see his quote that "Virginia Tech didn't do what was necessary to get me in", and they're going to see him in a Clemson uniform. In fact, us bringing up the fact we couldn't fit him in academically, no matter how valid, is going to make us look petty and worse. He's making it look like Clemson bent over backwards to get him in because they care about veterans. You better believe they're going to play up on that at every opportunity over the coming years, and you better believe Dabo will be very vocal about the fact that Virginia Tech is unwilling to work with you.
Doesn't matter what the truth is. The media will spin it any way they like, and we're going to look bad in this scenario. Real bad.
