It's funny that you say Notre Dame is 'selfishly' seeking a special deal by putting their own interests above that of the ACC. Why would a school like Notre Dame join the ACC and take a huge hit in athletic revenue so they can take an equal draw with dead weight like Wake Forest? I'd be shocked if Notre Dame failed to exploit every bit of leverage it can to work the most favorable deal possible. In other words, I'd expect the Irish to act like every other business in the US.

One question: did VT selfishly put it's interests over its conference mates when it left the Big East? Or was it simply improving its individual position using every bit of leverage it had? Is the answer 'yes' to both questions?
