Rode my bike a mile to the road cycling course. Knew a shortcut through a park so there were very few people around - was able to stand right on the curb. Saw the entire race go by in about two minutes. Oddly, a bunch of cyclists decided they needed to pee right near where I was standing - maybe because there were so few people around. So if they show the race on TV in the US, watch for the guy in the Virginia Tech shirt watching the guys pee on the side of the road.
Was then able to ride on the course halfway back to my house. Taking the kids back this afternoon to watch them come back on their way to the finish. Not a bad start to the day.
