UCLA played their home games at the LA Memorial Coliseum from 1928 until 1982. UCLA wanted to build a stadium on campus, but it was blocked by "influential residents" and other politicians. So UCLA moved their home games to the Rose Bowl.
Another interesting factoid, in even years, UCLA was home team and had the north sideline benches and stands. In odd years, USC was home team and they got the north sideline benches and stands. And for most of that time, both teams wore their home jerseys every year. That's why they've gone back to doing that in recent years, to the NCAA's displeasure, even though they play at different stadiums now.
