The punishment levied on Penn St is a bit of a slap in the face to everyone associated with football.

A fine of about 1/4 of the funds raised by donors last year alone? A reduction of 10 schollys per year for 4 years? A 4 year bowl ban and vacating wins from 1998 onward? Thats not going to dissuade anyone from doing anything going forward.

The NCAA had a chance to send a true message, and they completely dropped the ball. Penn St should not be playing football next year, but they decided that the actions of the Board after the allegations came out were enough to allow them to do so. Essentially, they said "I'm sorry" enough that it made it OK. Disgraceful.
