It's not just the amount of home games. It's the the fact that they're the only ACC schools with an annual OOC rivalry game. Where VT has the flexibility to schedule 3 non-annual OOC opponents, they can only schedule 2. The home game issue comes into play with this because they need the revenue hosting a home generates and now they'll be restricted to playing mostly crappy teams in one-off deals in order to get the amount of revenue they expect.
