Nope, I am just remembering the stated purpose of WVU. The University exist to educate the state, and therefore keeps low admission standards to allow more students through its doors in order to hopefully bring about a more educated workforce for the state. That is why it is ranked so poorly in academic rankings. You can get an excellent education at WVU but most don't. The % of students graduating in 4 years is 33% that is pretty low, and the acceptance rate is something like 87% which is very high. Those numbers aren't going to get better, and that is ok because the University is fulfilling its stated purpose.
