Shortsided on your part. I think you are wrong. Although this "muck" will be Penn State's for ever, the impact (beyond financial) will be over in a relatively short period. The turnover at institutions is fast (every 4 years +/-) and they have a large and powerful alumni. Adding the state of Penn for ACC would be a natural. (Pitt is more out of the way. Not really state of Penn.)
