Tell that to the SEC (and I don't mean the football conference). In the business world companies are very much held liable for what individuals within their firms do illegally. I've been through way too many compliance training sessions to know the buck doesn't just stop at the individuals when they are fired.
Are the companies held liable by the SEC for breaking SEC rules or for *any* laws?
Would the SEC step in and punish Google if Google harbored a child sex offender?
