UM, UVa, VT and UNC all have much more in common with the B1G public research school model than they do with many ACC schools.

I know VT wouldn't exactly be at the top of the academic rankings in the B1G, but we wouldn't be at the bottom either. GT might be a more desirable choice I suppose, but damn, I wonder if these thoughts are on the B1G radar?
I don't think they would be interested in UVa and VT together. Remember, a lot of their money comes from the B1G Network, and doubling down on a state doesn't make financial sense. I think BUGGZY below (above? depends on your view) is right, DC (UMd) and Atlanta (GT) are their two top choices. And if they're picking from a broken-apart ACC, they'll probably want those two, and then UNC and UVa/VT. Of course, the SEC would then be in play if we're talking about an ACC implosion.

One thing to think about, if we were to be offered the B1G and the SEC, while the B1G might be more attractive academically/financially, I think we would go SEC, because UVa won't be offered the SEC. There will definitely be political interested in making sure that UVa has a soft landing as well, so I don't see us taking a B1G invitation if there isn't a nice parachute for our brethren to the north and west of us.
