Are you saying ND would be trading BE for ACC, with ND still being independent in football? With a side deal where ND plays X number of ACC schools each year?

I still have trouble with ND using ACC like the used BE.

I am not sure why ND would be resistant considering they could still play USC, Stanford, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, and Navy. I put a sample 10 year schedule below. VT would be playing ND more than 6 ACC teams (e.g., FSU, Clemson) in this arrangement!

60 games over 10 year period
10 - BC (10 games)
6 - Pitt (6 games)
4 - Miami, GT, VT, FSU, Clemson, Syracuse, FSU, UVA, UNC (36 games)
2 - Wake, Duke, NCSU, Maryland (8 games)
