In this scenario, Florida's 1 loss was in the SEC championship game to an undefeated (probably #1) Alabama. Boise State would have won 13 games likely with the easiest competition. The rules (as we know them--who knows?) say that conference champions are considered, but keep in mind that this was the compromise set of rules that would allow for a non-conference champion. One could argue that if Florida doesn't get into the playoff in this scenario then it is virtually impossible for a non-conference champ (save Notre Dame) to get in. Florida would probably be ranked #2 to #4 in this scenario with 1 loss in a conference title game against Alabama--compared to Boise State...
In this situation, I'm afraid I would consider the SEC Championship game to be an elimination game. You have 4 teams who are undefeated and didn't blow it in their conference championship game. The selection committed is undoubtedly going to be influenced by the AP or some other rankings. And when you consider in 2006, I think it was, that Cincinnati, Utah and Boise were all undefeated and all ranked in the top 5 and all played against crappy competition, I gotta think Boise State will get in with an undefeated record in the Big East.
