Here's a better hypothetical... who gets the 4 playoff berths?

The AP rankings:
1 Ohio State 13-0, Big Ten Champions
2 Virginia Tech 13-0, ACC Champions
3 USC 12-1, Pac-12 Champions, lost to Oregon
4 Boise State 13-0, Big East Champions
5 Alabama 12-1, SEC Champions, lost to Auburn (8-4)
6 Texas 11-1, Big XII Champions, lost to USC-w
7 Oregon 10-2, lost to Washington and North Division Winner Stanford.
8 Stanford 10-3, lost to Arizona and USC-w... twice.
9 Tulsa 13-0, Conference USA Champions

Yeah, the top 3 would be easy but #4 would be difficult. That's where the selection committee has to weigh Boise State's perfect record and title against Alabama's overall competition and results. Without seeing the actual games or the schedules, I'd say Alabama should be in.
