TV is not going to have a vote for the playoff. That's a bowl thing and not a playoff thing. They will also be at a major disadvantage with the conference champion component a factor in who is chosen. First, if it is tie versus someone with conference championship they will lose. Second, if they don't get to play in 13 games because of no conference championship game it will hurt their SOS rankings. Third, the conference champion will most likely pick up even more SOS rankings since they will have probably beaten a highly ranked team.
It's just a matter of time before ND joins a conference, the only question is when and which one? BTW, I have my money on sooner rather than later. Their admin knows they have struggled with no BCS wins in over 15 years and they know that by what happened Tuesday June 26th, the bus is being driven by the conferences and not the independents.
