There is a long time NCAA rule that says that any team can play only 1 post season game. Several years ago the NCAA voted to consider Conference Championship Games as "Regular Season Games" in order to keep the rule intact yet allow these CCGs. The main reason that the NCAA was protecting this rule is to have control over any playoff.
There was a previous effort to get the NCAA to allow a "Plus 1 Game" and the NCAA refused to bend on the 1 Post Season Game rule.
How will the NCAA react? Will they insist on sharing in the revenue? Will they impose a huge license fee to approve the game? Will they insist on additional revenue sharing among all Div 1 schools? Will they demand a voice in how teams are selected? Will they demand a voice in money negotiations? Will all 300+ Division 1 members have a vote on football playoffs?
