The service academies have a different mission than most universities, and they have different considerations when it comes to athletics. They exist to create future military leaders, and the athletic aspect of that is purely secondary. There are all kinds of problems that would be created by adding Navy to the ACC, for Navy *and* for the ACC.

The same arguments work for Navy to the ACC as well, no matter how attractive it may look on the surface (pun intended).

Add one other item from personal experience. There is a LOT of red tape in MILCON (military construction) contracts. My own organization is split between three different buildings right now (one of them trying to push us out, unsuccessfully for the time being), because our original main building, built in the 50s, is infested with black mold. We've been trying to get a MILCON for expansion of one of our other buildings, and expansion that would put us all together in one building, for 10 years, and it's still not going through. Given that, how easy do you think it will be for Navy to build capital improvements to athletic facilities to be able to recruit at the high-D1 level, at the expense of other, mission-critical needs?

Navy to the ACC is a non-starter. Period.
I'm not sure what you're arguing here. I was aruging AGAINST Navy as a full member and FOR Navy as a football only member...

I clearly, CLEARLY stated that Navy has no business competing in non-revenues in the ACC...
