i think the current deal averaged ~$12MM/year over it's life, but like all TV deals escalates and will be earning ~$15MM/year over the last 2-3 years. and don't forget, that's an 8 year old deal for 7-8 football games/year. they also get somewhere in the range of $4-5MM/year from the BigEast, $2.5MM/year from the BCS, AND they get to keep 100% of the bowl money they earn (usually ~$1-1.5MM per year recently). so ND is seeing somewhere between $20-25MM in TV and bowl revenue right now with an outdated 8 year old TV deal. they will EASILY find a network who will pay them north of $20MM/year for their 7-8 home football games when the current NBC deal runs out. i could see NBC paying an average closer to $30MM to keep the domers, especially if they can move some of the lower profile home games to NBC Sports Network. add on whatever they get from the BigEast for MBB and non-revs, and they will be every bit as lucrative as the B1G schools.
ND will NOT be joining a conference for football any time soon. they've been bad for 20 years, and their TV ratings and bowl committee draw haven't suffered one bit.
