To hear him talk, he'd be 6, 7 under right now...playing with nothing more than a 6 iron and a putter, while blindfolded. He really elevates his douchiness to a whole new level for this tourney...
He knows what he's talking about. In a short stretch, he was one of the best there ever was....Hoganesque ball-striker who never could putt (and it drove him from the game. He is the FIRST to talk about his own shortcomings as a golfer!)...Still, he shot what STILL may be the best final round ever at a US Open..He shot a remarkable 63 at an Oakmont Golf Club that many think is every bit as hard as (or harder than) Olympic...blowing by the likes of Palmer, Player, Trevino, and some dude named Nicholas!
Some people don't like him because he is VERY opinionated...Thing is, HE is MUCH more entitled to his opinion than half of the announcers on TV (any channel), because he experienced the very heights, AND the depths of professional golf. Fact is, the leaders today ARE stinking it up...even given the golf course is a BRUTE.
