What do you do when the players won't play? Everybody assumes the players will accept a 16+ game college season. 1/3 of players have already said they don't want playoffs, and that the bowls are a reward for seniors.

And the bigger problems is that seniors preparing for the draft are the ones most likely to be on top teams - i.e., those participating in a playoff. Those kids care more about NFL money than they do winning a playoff. They show that every time they declare early. With a 2-3 game playoff, I assume we'd see future first and second rounders dodging the games, or playing it safe.

This factor can't be ignored, and it may be more important than any other. All it's going to take is for the next Andrew Luck to tear an ACL in a second round playoff game, and the media will jump all over it (the same media now screaming for a playoff).
