The once rock-solid Big12 Expansion Twitter Mafia is starting to crumble from within

One of the original B12 expansion sources, GSwaim, is now saying that Clemson is out of the mix for Big 12 expansion. Something to the effect that B12 is no longer interested in the Tigers (which makes no sense). The rest of the twitter mafia haven't jumped on his side yet (and some are denouncing him)...but you can tell that they are all getting nervous. They've been spouting nonstop ridicule about the ACC and heaping praises on the Big12 for 2-3 months now. Most people that have been following them are starting to see the cracks in their B12 expansion vase.

Beginning to think that this was indeed all a big PR move to make the ACC (not the B12) perceived as the weakest, most unstable conference. They probably succeeded to some extent. There was probably some initial interest/flirtation with FSU and Clemson...but nothing close to being a "done deal" like they have been reporting.

Anyways...it's interesting to read their twitter feeds now and see the monumental backtracking they are all doing. I can see them blaming all of this on the BCS playoff decision later or something.

Perceive all you want, the ACC is the weakest conference...performance-wise for sure.

VT is 5-0 against Texas, Texas A&M and Nebraska...I know two are now gone from the Big 12, but they were both flag ship schools in the Big 12 at the time we played them. The Big 12 begged both schools to stay too.

The 96 Orange Bowl stats say otherwise.

I agree, but that game served as barometer as to where VT wanted to go. It was a great game.

VT lost to Oklahoma in 1991... suppose that was the Big 8

We've also played K-State & Okie State. Split 2 games with both of them. We have a losing record against WVU.

Don't we still own the Black Diamond Trophy?

We won the last two, but I don't think VT actually has the trophy.

During the Beamer era, Tech is 12-6 vs. WVU in football. WVU leads 28-22-1 in series.
