Guess if you throw enough darts at a board, eventually one might stick. Lately he's been throwing in the wrong direction...
"You start a conversation you can't even finish it
You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything
When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed
Say something once, why say it again?"

It doesn't seem like it, but okay.
I mean... There were ALL KINDS of very loud hints and outright statements from Colorado, Nebraska, TAMU and Mizzou that they wanted out of the Big XII. I mean right up from the very top of the universities' leadership. As for Pitt and Cuse, nobody, but NOBODY wanted to stay in the Big East anymore. The ACC gave them an out and they jumped. The Big XII called WVU and TCU and they left a damn vapor trail they left so fast. If the Pac-X were to call up Boise State or SDSU, they too would bail on the Big East. The Big East is in the midst of a mass-exodus and the last one seated gets stuck with the check.
No one of consequence has uttered a peep of dissatisfaction with the ACC. No one from FSU. Well, Andy Haggard ran his uninformed mouth and was quickly put in his place by Dr. Barron. But Haggard's opinion never mattered anyway. No one from Clemson. No one collecting a paycheck from any ACC school has expressed any desire to change conferences. The ACC is about as solid as a conference can be and no one from the Big XII or the Big East gets that. Especially not the Dude from the school that jumped from one crumbling conference to another. The ACC is a destination, not a stepping stone. You have to go back 40 years to find the last time a school left the ACC. It ain't about to happen now either.Last edited by Hokie CPA; Wed Jun 13 2012 at 11:01 PM.

This board is amazing to me. It is like you many of you are trying to convince yourselves that there is no way FSU/Clem will leave. If this is all about nothing why is this message board so busy? Why are there special BOT meetings happening? Why don't you see any clear language from FSU/Clem that they are staying in ACC even if offered? If the Big 12 turns up the heat on expansion and delivers big money, the ACC is in danger...make no mistake about it. The ACC may or may not get raided but there is a huge threat right now.

This board is so busy because it's the Dead Zone season and nothing else is happening. The BOT meetings taking place are the normal regularly scheduled meetings. The FSU BOT had this topic on its most recent meeting because Andy Haggard had been reading too many uninformed blogs and needed an education, so Dr. Barron took the opportunity to educate the rest of the BOT at the same time. I don't know what else you expect the folks at FSU and Clemson to say. They are not speaking to any other conferences and they are not looking for any offers. That is way WAY more pro-status quo than anything you heard from Colorado, Nebraska, TAMU or Mizzou for three years before they finally bailed on the Big XII. The ACC is a solid conference and has longevity in its favor. The SEC could poach a couple of ACC teams if they wanted to, but the Big XII hasn't got a chance.
