But isn't it also reasonable to expect the conference you thought you were planing to join, to actually be the conference you join?
I think it's reasonable for TCU to not join if two of the pillars of the conference they were planning to join annnounced they were leaving.
That's the risk they took. Anyone that has a clue knew how unstable the Big East has been. Aside from members leaving, the Big East is still intact, and it hasn't lost its status as a BCS conference, not that it will matter in a couple of years. If anything, it magnifies just how stupid they were for agreeing to join in the first place. They'll pay it, and it will barely be a blip to them. I'm not sure what they're holding out for.
