Big East Sues TCU

I'd almost guarantee something was in writing. I also don't get the impression from the article that TCU denies that they owe the Big East any money. They just haven't paid it.

Actually, from the article:

In the lawsuit, the Big East says it has "made demand for the payment owed under the Agreement, but TCU has refused to make that payment or acknowledge its obligation to do so.''

TCU does not acknowledge they owe anything.

Will the AQ status be gone? In a 4-team playoff, only two bowl games would be needed for the semi-finals and the current BCS Bowl would take the 2 winners. How would the other Bowls select their teams?

If I understand things correctly, SEC and B12 champs or their #2 teams will be in a bowl as AQs (I am guessing the Cotton Bowl or a completely new bowl). PAC and B1G champs will be in the Rose Bowl as AQs. Will the ACC champion not have a Bowl tie in? Will the Orange, Sugar and Fiesta just pick teams from remaining pool of all FBS teams if they are not one of the playoff bowls?

Given the Orange Bowl's current alignment with the ACC, our champ may still get the Orange Bowl unless the Orange dissolves that relationship. The Sugar and Fiesta appear to have lost their AQ bids to Jerry Jones so, yeah... I would say those bowls will pick at larges. I would, however, bet money that in most years the SEC's next team, after the Jerry Bowl, will be in the Sugar Bowl and the Big XII will still place a team in the Fiesta most years.
