We could do all those things and or revenue may not go up enough to cover the cost. Especially when you consider the added cost that the non revs will pull from the football revenues to cover their additional cost of competing in the new league.
What about long term? Just how viable will the ACC be IF we simply stay and the landscape changes to a Big 4 conference alignment and the ACC isn't part of it? We would have to scale back.
JMHO, but I strongly feel a move to the SEC would be the best move possible for VT from an all sports perspective. And I don't see it harming academics one iota. I have yet to see any real indication/reason why our academics would suffer if we left the ACC and went to the SEC.
