this is not a mild disagreement. The way they decide the playoff 4 is what the athletic folks are hoping will put enough pressure for them to have to leave. From what I can gather, Slive is pushing hard for this and the rumors of FSU and Clemson to the SEC months ago were only squashed by Florida and South Carolina saying no way. However, whatever way this works out for those two, this could create a long term divide that is not good for the school. I have first hand knowledge where this happened before at a school and it took them decades to stop the internal fighting. Believe me it is a lot of wasted time and energy that diminishes progress...especially on the athletic side. The academic people can make life very rough on the athletic side if they are mad....and if they can't get on the same page about a conference, they will be mad.
It is really important that Virginia Tech handles this right and doesn't get pulled in that trap.
PS I asked you strap on your seat belts and get ready for a bumpy ride for about 6 weeks about 3 weeks ago...well I am sorry, but it could be longer than that. Either way Virginia Tech needs to take the high road and we will be fine.
STECH, do you believe that the VT academic and athletic folks are in agreement regarding the alternatives available re: conference affiliation?
