In that case, with Alabama being SEC West runners up and Oklahoma having won their conference and both teams having identical records, I think Oklahoma should get that playoff berth over Alabama.
I agree with this. The at-large should have to be significantly better than the conference champion to get in. If the ratings factor in conference champion, and give a little bonus for that, I'd be happy. But not so big a bonus that a #9 conference champion gets taken over a #4 at-large. I think the talking heads have hit the sweet spot at about #6.
