I think you're forgetting that we (like most teams actually) usually lose one we shouldn't when you look at it on paper(UNC after the RW fumble, Miami 2005, Clemson last year, JMU a couple of seasons ago, the game that never happened 1998, Almost WVU in 1999, ECU 2008, Syracuse 2001 after 6 straight wins, WVU 2003, NC State 2004 based on the fight we put up against USC, etc...). At Clemson will be tough. scUM always has the potential to be tough. I'm still not convinced we can consistently beat FSU. Pitt always plays like Alabama or LSU when they play us (1 of multiple reasons I hate the idea of them in the ACC). UNC always has the chance to have cheated enough to edge us out. And call me crazy, but I still don't like that we scheduled Austin Peay for 5 days after Ga Tech even if they are just Austin Peay. If we win out, we'll be in a BCS bowl if not the MNC game. It will be one of those two options. All that said, we haven't won out since 1999, so, let's just say while I'm excited about this season, my hopes are cautiously optimistic and realistically in check.
