Those in charge at Tech seem to have a closed mind to even considering joining the SEC. I really do not understand this position at all and frankly it is disappointing for me. The SEC is clearly the superior athletic conference in the country and we just say "no thank you" we are happy in the ACC - life is so good there. Where is the vision for VT athletics? The SEC fans numbered 2 billion for baseball this year and VT has a baseball park that resembles most high schools. We are second class citizens in athletics and seem to be content being second class citizens. The ACC will never compete with the SEC and VT will never reach the elite in college athletics until we upgrade schedules and yes conferences. All that glitters isn't gold as the old saying goes and that best describes the ACC. We need new leaders and a new vision of where VT goes from this point forward. The ACC position will get us no where and we might as well be in the Big East except for the revenue sharing (which is a big deal) but adding Pitt and Syracuse did nothing for football your main money manker. How dumb was that move?
