That is exactly where this is all eventually headed. As I have said for over a year now, the gap between the haves and have nots in college sports will get much larger. This will take some time to happen, but it will happen. The top 64-80 schools are tired of sharing revenue, access, and control with others - others being smaller schools, the NCAA, the networks. In essence they will be simply creating a new tier to college sports. Nothing wrong with that as we have tiers today, You just want to make sure that you are one of the haves by being in the right conference.
