But among the SEC, Pac12, Big XII, Big Ten and ACC you have 5 champions which won their title on the field of battle and at worst only two or three of them would be noticeably worse than the 2nd or third place team from another conference. Last year, for example... we will all pretty much agree that after championship week NOBODY would have claimed that Oregon, Clemson or Wisconsin was better than Alabama, but there have been numerous threads, carrying on for hours, about how Oklahoma State just might have had a shot to win it all and got screwed out of a title shot because Alabama stole their spot. We'll never know, but I believe OSU deserved at least one shot at it. Bama got two and OSU got none... and that wasn't right.
