ROFL, actually I would make the comparison that FSU & Clemson are much more like the tea party. Why?
1) Clem/FSU are taking one issue (football TV rights) and placing it above all else. Much like the tea party takes one issue (no tax increases) and places it above all else.
2) Clem/FSU seem to be willing to blow up the conference with our regard to the fallout. Tea Party seems willing to default on budget commitments without regard to fallout.
3) Clem/FSU are basically useless and fans of Clem/FSU are basically rednecks... get the idea? LOL.
Now do you see why it was not a good idea to introduce politics into a football discussion
[Disclaimer: I am no fan of the Occupy Movement. I am also no fan of those who seek to minimize the Occupy Movement. I am no fan of the tea party. Yet, they were legitimately elected. History will put all of the movements in their proper place in due time.]
