Texas and Oklahoma lose in expansion unless they can get ND for football. Adding FSU and Clemson will cost them money and make it more difficult to get to the 4 team playoff. This is what some of us have been saying, but the Clemson "call me" remarks threw us off. However, those remarks easily could be just about having a plan B. Remember this thought, it has been the Baylor's, TCU's, WVU's etc. looking for expansion. It has not been Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and the Oklahoma State's asking for it. They want more money and an easier route to the 4 team playoff.
That said, ND to the Big 12 would change everything, but I just don't see ND's administration wanting to be a part of a conference in the upper or lower mid-west if they have to join a conference.
The game changer will be when they decide how you get to the 4 team playoff. That is when certain teams will have to make a decision about what they are going to do over the next few years.
I can tell you that ND is quite confident that they will have access to the playoffs without joining a conference. If the ACC wants them, the ACC will have to compromise on the All-In rule.
