While the higher ups may have their finger on the pulse and are taking care of VT, I want to play the best to become the best, have lots of excited VT fans and lot of opposing fans in an expanded Lane Stadium.

I want to play on the big stage and be on the big stage. ACC football is not the big stage. Beamer struggles in the big stage games because we feast on small time teams in small time stadiums (duke, wake, GT, BC, MD, Cuse). Going to those is simple on a bus, but they do not prepare you for the big stage games. Boise for years has been willing to play on opponents big stage, they did well, and they learned how to win in big stage games.

Weavers handling of the basketball situation was major small time. He proved we are a football school. I am just sick of sticking our academic noses up in the air and parading around as big time while playing a weak football schedule in the basketball centric ACC. IF we mode to another to play big boy football I am convinced we will do terrific. I just wish the bean counters and academics would realize how much we can prosper and quit acting holier than thou by talking about how good it is to rub shoulders with Dukies, Deacons, Eagles, etc. in pitiful stadiums with apathetic snotty fans who do not realize the power of big time college football. Thank you, I feel better now.
I agree with you. I am so bored with the ACC and adding Pitt and SU has made it even worse for football. You are exactly correct about the level of competition; that's why we suck in the bowl game when we play an "elite" team. We may get lucky every few years, but we'll never compete on that level as long as we play our schedule. I don't think it would take us long to compete in the SEC.
