I'm an Ole Miss Rebel, and I've been hearing all the chatter about FSU, Clemson, and whoever else moving to the Big 12, as well as Virginia Tech and the SEC having some level of mutual interest. On the SEC boards, there are all sorts of opinions, but I thought I'd just come straight to the source: do Virginia Tech fans have any interest in joining the SEC?
Personally, I think it'd be great. I think 16 is the magic number, and we've added 2 in the west. Think it'd be great to get two in the east, and VT would be right at the top of my list.
We can't get out of the ACC fast enough. I still have yet to see an explanation from anyone, other than geography, as to why the ACC is a good fit.
ACC is hoop first -- Hoops is that thing you do waiting for the spring game at VT
ACC is ran by a bunch of snotty nosed Ivy league wannabes - VT is as blue collar as they come
ACC is loaded with small private schools - VT is a large land grant university
I see nothing that fits between the ACC and VT, except geography.
And now 3 .. 2 .. 1 .. someone will bring up some nonsense about academic research partnerships. Then ask them to name 1 that is the result of ACC membership. You will get crickets. Because there are none.
