FSU bolts and L'ville goes with them for the Big12 to get to 12.
Notre Dame, in talks with the ACC, brokers a deal with the Pac12. the Pac12 and ACC+ND become the PAC26 (Pacific Atlantic Cooperation 26).
2 6 team divisions out west, and 2 7 team divisions in the east. ND hand selects BC, Pitt, GT, Miami, 'Cuse and umd for their division. VT, uva, unc, dook, wake, ncsu, and Clemson make up the other division as a nice 7 team mid-atlantic block.
Notre Dame has 6 division games, and gets to keep their USC and Stanford games, then has to rotate through the other 7 Eastern teams over a 14 year cycle. 9 conference games/year for everyone.
PAC26 gives up a bye week to have semi-finals the weekend of thanksgiving and the championship would be championship Saturday.
can you imagine the money a bicoastal league with 3 "playoff" games, Notre Dame, etc would bring in?
disclaimer: this is all just for fun and i hope no one is offended by thinking i meant this in any serious fashion whatsoever...no conferences were harmed in the typing of this post.
